1 Timothy 2 “Flee also youthful lusts; but pursue righteousness, faith, love, peace with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart.”
Consider determining to flee from people who bring temptation to you. Flee from TV shows/movies/computer/and phone images that cause temptation. Hit forward fast, hide your eyes and consider praying:
“Father, keep me from temptation, I will pursue righteousness.”
I have written often to search “Verses _______.” Fill in the blank with your habit.
When Jesus’ was tempted, He always quoted a verse. The question is… if you want to quit fast, do you have to quote a verse? Sort of.
You need to have one relevant verse at least partially memorized so that you can quote at least part of it. Or, you need to have the verse in your phone, or on a note where you can access it rapidly so that you can quote it.
Even if you are in a field without your phone… Do you think that God cares if you quote the verse and mess up four words. No! He cares that you are willing to fight temptation the exact same way that Jesus’ fought temptation.
Second, Isaiah 59:2 ESV But your iniquities have made a separation between you and your God, and your sins have hidden his face from you so that he does not hear.”
If you want your prayers heard, fight temptation Jesus way.
Finally, why do it this way?
1 Peter 5:8 ESV Be sober-minded; be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour.”
        How will you fight temptation?
