        Today, I plan to quit one of my secondary habits. I have prayed constantly to quit, I have planned, I get really determined, and those things did not work.
        Today, I am printing out the Bible verses about my habit. To do this search;
        “Verse ______” fill in the blank with your habit. Then, simply print out a bunch of the verses.
        Second, I will put my printout of verses in the place where I fall the most. If needed, I will print out a second copy for other locations.
        Third, when temptation overwhelms me, I will “instantly” pick up my printout and begin to study and pray over those verses.
        Fourth, I will prepare for temptation with a trifecta of prayers.
        “Father, remind me that ______ destroys my ________, ___________, and __________.”
        “Father, show me what You want me to do.”
        “Father, remind me to choose joy instead of fun and pleasure.”
        Fifth, I plan to print my three prayers at the top of my verses printout. I plan to pray each of these prayers at least 7 times to prepare for temptation.
        Sixth, I have joy. I keep forgetting that _______ kills my joy.
        I keep forgetting that on days when I do _______, I have minutes of fun and pleasure (maybe). I keep forgetting that on days when I do things God’s way, I have joy for 16 hours.
        Finally, this method is how Jesus fought temptation. If you keep fighting temptation this way, over time you will memorize the verses. At that point, you can quote the verses when overwhelmed. At that point, you will be fighting temptation exactly like Jesus did.
        If you fight temptation like Jesus did, it will work 100% of the times that you fight it that way.
        Then you will be done with it.
